The Purpose of 1 and 2 Chronicles
1 and 2 Chronicles give a review, a chronicle, of things that have happened up to this point. They start with Adam and go to the decree of Cyrus to come back.
1 Chronicles 1-9 – Genealogy
1 Chronicles 10 – Death of Saul
1 Chronicles 11-29 – Reign of David
2 Chronicles 1-9 – Reign of Solomon
2 Chronicles 10-36 – The history of Judah (the Southern Kingdom) from Rehoboam to the decree of Cyrus, which we will look at next week.

The emphasis is on David, Solomon, and Judah because this is the path through which redemption is flowing. The seed of woman, the seed of Abraham, the seed of David, the seed of Judah. The focus is on the Southern Kingdom, not the Northern Kingdom, because Jesus comes through the Southern Kingdom.

Notes and PowerPoint from each week will updated here every Wednesday.
