Class 11 finishes the outline blank: Joshua 1-24: Canaan conquered and divided
They had not been circumcised. It is not recorded that they kept the Passover. Joshua 5 is a renewal of the covenant with a new generation.
The Commander of the Lord’s Army: God isn’t choosing sides. God is the side, and you can choose to be with Him or not.
Jericho was the first battle Israel fought after entering the Promised Land. Hebrews 11:30 – “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.” What did their faith look like? Trust and belief combined with obedience. The Battle of AI shows that if they are going to win these battles they are going to have to obey God. They will not get special treatment.
Rahab is mentioned five times in the Bible. Four times her past is mentioned, but every time her faith is remembered. Rahab shows us that someone who didn’t “grow up in the church” can still be forgiven and can still make a huge impact. Rahab is the great, great grandmother of David, in the lineage of Jesus, a Gentile in the seed of promise!
Canaan is divided in Joshua 13-24
As Joshua prepares to die, he gives a farewell speech in Joshua 23-24, just like Moses had done.
