Class 9 covered more of Numbers 15-Deuteronomy 34 – Forty Years in the Wilderness
We looked at:
There are consequences of unbelief
True belief includes obedience
God’s grace instructed the dying regarding God’s condition for living. People were healed if they responded to God’s grace with obedience.
In the wilderness, dying people looked at a lifted serpent and lived. At the cross, dying sinners look to a lifted Savior and live.
Numbers closes looking toward Canaan
A military census takes place to divide the land for the tribes
Numbers 28 and 29 lists hundreds of sacrifices. The streets are running red with blood. This is a reminder of the price of Genesis 3:6, and a looking forward to the sacrifice of Jesus.
Deuteronomy covers two months.
1 month teaching | 1 month mourning Moses
Key word: Remember
-The 2nd giving of the law
Deuteronomy is not just a speech. It is written like an ancient covenant treaty between a king and his people
You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. So the heart of the law has never changed: Love God with everything.
Next week we finish the 40 years in the wilderness and enter Canaan!
Notes and PowerPoint from each week will updated here every Wednesday. https://drive.google.com/
