Criticism is something all Christians experience. We should expect it. It simply is not possible to please everyone. If it were possible to please all men, then we would not please Jesus who said, “Woe unto you when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets” (Luke 6:26). How should we deal with criticism?

One preacher went so far as to say, “Everything I ever needed to know about religion I learned from Jesus loves me, this I know.” He may not have exaggerated much, for the entire scheme of redemption is found within its lyrics.

Does it really make any difference what we believe and practice in religion?

Churches of Christ do not sing a cappella because we dislike other kinds of music. Most of us have as many songs on iPods as the next person. We do not lack financial means to purchase instruments or capable musicians to play them. We are not just trying to be different or stubbornly upholding a longstanding tradition. Why, then, do we sing a cappella?

Since unique means “the only one of its kind,” could this really be true? Making the claim proves nothing, so let’s test the hypothesis by looking at things some think are unique about the church of Christ.

How do we know that neither corruption (accidental mistakes) nor collusion (intentional changes) took place? Did transmission destroy inspiration?

Scripture is able to make a man “wise unto salvation” and completely ready for “every good work” God has a standard for every area of our lives.

Why was Jesus born when He was?

Satan’s plan to destroy America through changing public opinion is easy to track (Ephesians 6:11). Undermine the family. Relax sexual ethics. Remove Christianity’s influence. In its void, put raunchy entertainment. Use music and television to change minds.
