Christ’s exercise of miracles was prophesied in the Old Testament (Isaiah 35:5–6; 42:7). Jesus performed miracles for God’s glory (John 10:37–38), that the Son of God might be glorified (John 11:4), and that His words might be authenticated (Mark 16:17–20). Through His miracles we see His power over creation (nature, time, space) and over the evils that assailed men (demons, illness, death).
