Where "U" Are Needed

Topic(s): Bible Study, Unity, Worship

A man called his neighbor to help him move a couch that had become stuck in the doorway. They pushed and pulled until they were exhausted, but they couldn't get the couch to budge. “Forget it,” the man finally said, “We’ll never get this in.”

The neighbor looked at him quizzically and said, “In?”

All too often in the church, we’re like those guys. Misunderstanding and confusion causes us to work against one another instead of working together. When we’re working for the Lord, it is especially important that we are all going in the same direction.

In what areas do Christians need to cooperate? Someone came up with a catchy way to remember where “U” are needed:

  • “U” are needed in Bible ST_DY! (But not in “ignorance.”)

  • “U” are needed in S_PPORT! (But not in “neglect.”)

  • “U” are needed in _NITY! (But not in “partyism” or “division.”)

  • “U” are needed in D_TY! (But not in “irresponsibility.”)

  • “U” are needed in B_ILDING! (But not in “tearing down.”)

  • “U” are needed in the CH_RCH! (But not in the “world.”)

The church and Bible School need “U”...and more than that “U” Need them!
