Just Be Sincere

Topic(s): Priorities

A popular religious saying is: “It makes no difference what
you believe just as long as you are sincere.” Ironically, this is not true in any other realm…

Imagine a chemistry lab where there are three bottles on the table…

One bears the symbol H2SO4 (sulphuric acid), one bears the symbol HCL (hydrochloric acid), and yet another bears the symbol H20 (water).

To the untrained eye, all three bottles appear to be the same...all are liquids and all are colorless. But a sincere person, mistaking the sulphuric acid for water, is no less dead than another person who drank the acid intentionally. One was sincerely wrong, but both are sincerely dead!

Thought: It does make a difference—in fact, an eternal difference in what a person believes. Some doctrines will condemn our souls, while other doctrines (teachings) will save our souls (cf. 2 John 9). Think about it… - adapted from One A Day Spiritual Vitamins

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the Spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world"
