Jesus was born under the Law (Galations 4:4) and instructed people to live under the Law (Matthew 5:19). However, Jesus did not give the Law in His eaerthly ministry. The Law was already given beginning in Exodus 20. Jesus and His apostles taught people to prepare themselves for a new law that would be in force at the coming of the new kingdom (Matthew 4:17; 10:7).

Jesus abolished the Law at the cross (Colossians 2:14; Ephesians 2:14-16). If the Mosaic Law is not taken away, then men cannot follow the law of Christ (Romans 7:1-4).

Hebrews chapters 6-8 are an excellent study in this regard, for they point back to the Old Testament passages that foretold of the elimination of the Mosaic Law. There are also several other answers on this site concerning this topic.
