God is not flesh and blood and thus cannot be defined by the boundaries and limitations of a body such as we have. Therefore, the image and likeness of God must refer to the inner being and spirit of man.

Humanity is the only creation of God with conscious self-awareness, the only being with an inner moral compass. We are the only part of the creation with the ability to make a distinction and choose between right and wrong. We are not controlled by our instincts, but rather have the capacity to exercise self-control.
