The Bible is silent as to the fate of the demons who had possessed the Gadarene man. Some things we do know:

1) they recognized the Divinity of Jesus and His power over them (Mark 5:7);

2) they knew of their ultimate fate (Matthew 8:29);

3) they did not request simply to be cast out, knowing Jesus would not allow them to simply leave that man and enter into another, or others (Matthew 8:31);

It is possible after they entered the swine and were drowned in the sea, that they were returned to the chains of darkness to await their Judgment (2 Peter 2:4).
