I believe "near-death" experiences are nothing more than
imaginary events, such as dreams in one's sleep, that are influenced
by what one has heard from others. It seems strange to me how all
descriptions of "near-death experiences" are nearly identical.
God is the giver of all life (Acts 17:25). Luke 16:19-31 says when a
man dies, his soul is carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom.
How then does one explain this? Did God make a mistake or change His
mind? Do the angels fail in discharging their duties?
However, this is not to say those who claim such are dishonest. A
dream that awakens us in the night “feels” like reality until we
realize it was just that – a dream. When one enters a state of
unconsciousness, the mind may bring any number of images into view.
When one recovers, he may believe he has seen some sign or
experienced a vision. But there are too many Bible texts and too
little tangible evidences to believe that “near-death” experiences
are reality.
