Unlike with some of the priestly garb of the Mosaic Law (Exodus
28) there is no specified dress code for worship. 1 Timothy 2
teaches that we are to dress modestly. I have always understood this
in two senses:
1) not to dress in such a way as to draw attention to oneself as
being prosperous (I think this fits the context of 1 Tim 2); and
2) not to dress in such a way as to draw sexual attentions to
oneself.
I'm sorry I cannot be more specific than this, but anything beyond
this would be purely speculative on my part.
