I don't see how any man could be effective in his preaching and teaching if he up and left his wife. Such an attitude runs contrary to everything God intends his spokesmen to be.

How would a man preach on the subject of maintaining one's marriage (certainly a much-needed Bible subject today) after setting such a horrible example?

How could he ever effectively counsel with members experiencing marital difficulties?

How could a man preach on the love of God, who continues to love us and take us back always when we are willing to repent. What if God did what this man has done?

Furthermore, Jesus would never abandon His bride = the CHURCH (Ephesians 5:23-32). And men are to treat their wives just like Christ treats the church (same scriptures in Ephesians 5)
